During our recent trip to Athens, Greece, we stumbled across a place that felt like stepping into a storybook — Little Kook. Tucked away in the Psiri neighborhood, one of the Athen’s oldest and most vibrant areas, this café isn’t just about sweets and coffee. The moment we turned onto Karaiskaki Street, we knew we had found something special. Entire streets were decked out in elaborate Halloween decorations — pumpkins, cobwebs, witches, and skeletons hung overhead, spilling out from the café itself into the surrounding area. It wasn’t just one building; the whole block felt transformed.

Walking inside, the magic only deepened. Every detail, from the lighting to the wall art, to the table settings, played into the theme. It was immersive, whimsical, and unlike anywhere else we’ve been.

• Easy to get to. We walked over from our hotel in central Athens in about 10 minutes. If you’re coming from further away, the closest metro stop is Monastiraki Station (just a 4-minute walk). Taxis and Uber are also options, though traffic can slow you down.
