Harrah’s Gulf Coast: A Hidden Gem in Biloxi

We recently took our first trip to Harrah’s Gulf Coast in Biloxi, Mississippi – and honestly, we weren’t sure what to expect. A free room through Caesars Rewards gave us the nudge, and the short midweek getaway, from Sunday through Thursday, turned out to be the perfect mix of fun, food, and relaxation. If you’re a retiree or casual traveler looking for great value with coastal views and casino action, this may be your next favorite stop.

Small Casino, Big Personality

Harrah’s Gulf Coast isn’t huge like Vegas or Atlantic City, but we actually loved the more relaxed, intimate feel. The casino is modern, clean, and easy to navigate. No long walks between machines, and a friendly staff that made the experience even better. One nice perk? Complimentary drinks while you’re playing; a small treat that adds to the fun.

Whether you’re into roulette, blackjack, or just want to try your luck at the slots, the casino floor is comfortable and well-organized. It’s easy to enjoy at your own pace, without the crowds or chaos.

Comp Room + Food Credits = Win-Win

Thanks to our Caesars Rewards account, we scored a free room and dining credits. That alone made the trip worth it. We visited during the week, which we highly recommend—lower crowds, better availability, and more opportunity to take advantage of promotions and comps.

Our room had a view of the coast, and everything was clean, spacious, and comfortable.

Poolside Chill with a Cabana Bonus

The outdoor pool was a highlight – laid-back, great vibe, and full food and beverage service delivered right to your lounger or cabana. We didn’t book a cabana in advance, but when we asked about availability the day-of, we got one at a discounted rate. It came with plenty of shade, a television, six bottles of water, comfy seating, and just the right amount of privacy. Definitely a treat!

Beach Break: Just 5 Minutes Away

Want to mix in a little sun and sand? Biloxi Beach is just five minutes down the boulevard. We swung by one morning and loved the white sands, calm water, and wide open space. Unlike other beach towns, it wasn’t crowded at all.

No need to lug gear – vendors rent out beach chairs and umbrellas, and if you’re feeling adventurous, you can rent jet skis right on the beach.

Our Favorite Meal: Shaggy’s on the Beach

Hands down, our favorite dining spot in Biloxi was Shaggy’s Shaggy’s Great Food & Great Fun! It’s casual, colorful, and sits right on the water with beautiful views. The seafood was outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and huge portions.

But the best part? Buy-one-get-one cocktails while you wait for your table. We grabbed two frozen drinks and sat outside with the breeze while our table was being prepared. It turned the wait into part of the experience, and the food sealed the deal.

Also Worth Mentioning: The Blind Tiger

Another great meal was at The Blind Tiger, located by the water, and connected to Harrah’s by a bridge. It’s a bit more laid-back, with good seafood and very reasonable prices. A great lunch spot with a view.

Final Thoughts: Hidden Gem on the Gulf Coast

We didn’t expect much, but Harrah’s Gulf Coast pleasantly surprised us. Between the comped room, easygoing casino, beautiful nearby beach, and incredible local dining, we already know we’ll be back.

It’s a perfect destination for couples, retirees, or anyone who wants a fun, affordable escape with a coastal twist.
